Basic Information

He was born in June 1951, Shanghai. His original household registration was Shangyu, Zhejiang Province. He works as both a professor and doctoral supervisorin the Department of Philosophy, East China Normal University. He undertakes one major project of the National Social Science Fund, several general projects of the National Social Science Fund and social science projects at the provincial and ministerial levels. He is one of the chief experts of the Central Horse Project History of Chinese Philosophy.

Academic Achievements

he has published more than 200 papers in Chinese Social Sciences, Philosophical Studies, including 2 being published in Chinese Studies in Philosophy and Contemporary Chinese Thought in the United States, and one in Korea.

His outstanding achievements in scientific research have been awarded the Outstanding Achievement Award of Philosophy and Social Sciences by Shanghai Municipal Government and Ministry of Education for 10 times. He has received the special allowance from the State Council in 1995. In 1997, he won the first prize of Excellent Teachers of Bao steel Foundation and the third prize of Zeng Xianzi Foundation. In 2001 and 2007, he won the Shanghai Yucai Award twice. In 2006, he was awarded the title of Excellent Party Member of Shanghai Science and Education System.
