Basic Information

Sun Liang,Ph.D. in philosophy, was born in Mingguang, Anhui. He is professor ofphilosophy at East China Normal University, doctoral supervisor of MarxistPhilosophy and Basic Principles of Marxism. He is responsible for teachingMarxist Philosophy, Marx and Contemporary Western Philosophy of Law, andMarxist Philosophy Abroad. He is director of the teaching and research officeof Marxist Philosophy.

Research Fields

• The History of Marx and Modern Western Thoughts; the critical theory offoreign society, the study of German philosophy. His recent focus: open Marxistphilosophy, cognitive capitalism and criticism of value forms.

• visiting Scholar at Jena University, Germany (2015 -2016).

Academic achievements

In 2008, he was awarded the New Century Excellent Talents Support Program of the Ministry of Education. In recent years, he has presided over a number of research projects at various levels, including major research projects of the Ministry of Education. He has publicly published a number of academic research results on special topics, which has been generally formed into three academic research areas, namely the exposition of the existential principles of historical materialism, the critical analysis of the contemporary image of historical materialism and the contemporary significance of historical materialism.

Nearly 30 of those papers are reproduced in full text by the seconddocuments, such as Chinese Social Science Digest, Academic Digest of Arts andSciences in Higher Education, and copy materials of the Renmin University ofChina.

• He has wonthe second prize of Philosophy of the Social Sciences in Shanghai(2016), theprize of Bao Steel(2011) and the award of Outstanding Doctor as AcademicNewcomer. He is involved in the Talents Program of Pujiang(2017), Shanghai, andSocial Science Freshmen in Shanghai(2017). His course, Marxist Philosophy, hasbeen awarded the title of Shanghai Boutique Course (2017).
